Medical sheepskin

Medical sheepskin, sourced from the finest Merino sheep in Australia, offers exceptionally dense fur that enhances comfort during seated or reclined positions. This high-density fur helps distribute body weight evenly, making it especially beneficial for office workers or individuals using wheelchairs. For optimal functionality, our medical sheepskins are uniformly shaved to a thickness of 2.5 cm.

This sheepskin not only alleviates pressure but also significantly reduces the risk of skin irritations, such as rashes and eczema, making it ideal for those with sensitive skin. A notable German study revealed that babies who slept on this type of sheepskin for their first three years had a 79 percent lower risk of developing asthma.

Our medical sheepskins are tanned using natural plant tannins, which impart a warm yellow hue and a silky, fluffy texture. This unique tanning process enhances the sheepskin’s flexibility, allowing it to mold more effectively to your body shape.

Unlike regular sheepskin, our medical grade can be safely washed in a machine on the wool program. Please note, it should not be placed in a dryer. Instead, we recommend air drying away from direct sunlight to maintain its softness and prevent hardening
