Taking care of your sheepskin

Sheepskins are naturally resistant to dirt; however, proper care is essential to keep them in perfect condition. Firstly, regular shaking is necessary as, much like your furniture, sheepskins accumulate dust. Additionally, because leather products can absorb various odours, it’s important to air them out regularly.

While some owners may wash their sheepskins in the machine without issue, manufacturers generally advise against this practice as it can damage the product. The safest cleaning method involves using a shampoo or detergent specifically designed for wool. It's important to moisten only the hair gently, keeping the skin dry. Always dry the sheepskin at room temperature and away from direct sunlight or other heat sources to avoid damage.

Lastly, it is recommended to brush the fur with a special brush to prevent tangling and maintain fluffiness, giving it a refreshed look! However, be aware that combing can sometimes alter the natural texture of the sheepskin, potentially changing its original feel and appearance.
